The Colonial Days WiffleŽ Ball Tournament Hall of Fame has become a Painted Post institution. Formally organized in 1988, by the Tournament Commissioners, the Hall of Fame has seen 29 of the game's greatest inducted and passed into local legend. Once set at every five years, the Hall of Fame Winter Banquet celebrated each era's new inductees with plenty of food, beer, live music, and dancing. Canned goods were collected for a local food bank, and coverage of the event was carried in the The Leader, the area's hometown newspaper. The banquet became a time to honor our best, renew friendships, have a good time, and fill the void of a yet another long, upstate New York winter, until the crack of the plastic bat could be heard again. Since 1999, the Hall of Fame induction announcements have taken place at the end of each year's tournament, with induction ceremonies occuring every three years at various events including the Buzzy Dobson Memorial Golf Tournament, and the Wiffle Ball Tournament itself.
